Position Summary
The After School Program Staff member helps create a fun, safe, and welcoming environment where kindergarten students can learn, play, and grow after the school day ends. Staff supervise children, assist with homework, lead engaging activities, and encourage positive social interactions while supporting each child's academic, social, and emotional development. The ideal candidate is patient, energetic, and enjoys working with young children in a team-oriented setting.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.
  • Plan and lead age-appropriate activities, including games, arts and crafts, literacy, and outdoor play.
  • Assist students with homework and provide academic support as needed.
  • Assist with snack time, transitions, attendance, and daily routines.
  • Foster positive behavior, social skills, and conflict-resolution strategies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming program environment.
  • Communicate effectively with families, coworkers, and school staff.
  • Follow all program policies, safety procedures, and licensing requirements.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience working with young children in a school, childcare, camp, or after-school setting preferred.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to engage positively with kindergarten-aged children and create a supportive learning environment.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.

Schedule

  • Hours: 2pm-6:30pm Monday-Friday on full school days. 
  • Start Date: August 17, 2026

Compensation

  • Hourly rate based on experience and qualifications.
